Adolescents with ASD

Thriving for independence is a meaningful process during adolescence years. Adolescents develop their abilities of decision-making, choices and personal goals while practicing ways for achieving them.
Adolescence years and the shift towards adulthood can be challenging for adolescents withASD.

Although they express their desire to be more independent and increase their participation in community activities, some tend to be dependent on the help and support of others (family, caregivers) and are less likely to pursue independence.
The use of the right guidance, support and personal adjustments can help adolescents with ASD thrive. The SPAN program is designed to support adolescents and young adults with ASD pursue and achieve their personal goals and independence.
